The Cafe Music Group is comprised of musicians who accompany all acts that come on stage to perform at the open mic. Artists and Poets sign up at the door and wait for their name to be called randomly and the band learns their song in less than 30 seconds.
Join us on Friday, July 25th at the Sound Mind Center in Brooklyn, NY as we celebrate the highly anticipated debut album from Ryuu Richy, “Out & About: Again”. A night of great music, amazing energy, and unforgettable vibes you won't want to miss.
No matter your work situation, there’s a lot to be angry about.
Laid off. Stuck in a job you hate. Overworked and underpaid. Abysmal job market. Unemployed. Work-life imbalance. The list goes on. All while the world is on fire.
Enter: Rage Against the Routine, a rock dance party for those who can’t believe this (gestures broadly) is what we’ve worked so hard for.
Nexus connects four of the world’s most skilled Indian classical artists in a unified musical experience that journeys through the many shades of Indian music. Each performance begins with melodic expressions rooted in the raga—ancient melodic frameworks considered living, breathing entities. The percussion then starts a playful rhythmic banter that escalates until rhythm and melody form a nexus that reverberates through the room. This group features tabla artist Vivek Pandya, bansuri wizard S. Akash , santoor maestro Vinay Desai , and kanjira king Swaminathan Selvaganesh.
