Lila Journey: On Becoming - OCTOBER 7 | זיכרון ותקווה | MEMORY & HOPE

A memorial through music, movement, and contemplation.

For the tears. For the rage. For the memory.
For the future.

On the 2 year anniversary of this tragic day, we open a portal of healing and co-create a platform for בירור הזהות היהודית (Jewish identity inquiry), reminding each other and ourselves that destruction and reckoning could signal at a new beginning.

All revenue from ticket sales will be directly donated to the Nova Tribe Community Association: a non-profit organization initiated right after the atrocities on October 7th, by the producers of the Super Nova festival. Their goal is to support the long-term recovery from trauma for the 3,500 survivors and 2,500 members of the bereaved families. They provide a community-based support system that fosters post-traumatic growth, reduces isolation, enhances resilience, strengthens mental health, and mitigates the risks of trauma.

Helen in her Homeland: a reflection in three rooms by Alexandra Haddad

A reflection on the power and pain of beauty, Helen in Her Homeland shares how Helen of Troy and Paris met, fled, started, and ended a war. Themes of sex, gender, identity, immigration, and violence, all explored by a woman who, throughout history, has remained voiceless. What is a home–the place we were born, or what we make of it? A modern poetic and mythological retelling of what the face that launched a thousand ships might have seen, and said, in Troy.

WOOM Breath Journey: The Road to Forgiveness

In the Kabbalistic tradition, this time of year marks the Days of Return; a sacred threshold between what has been and what could be. It is a season of reckoning and repentance, of clearing residue from the heart and realigning with the soul. These are days of awe and tenderness, an invitation to examine our relationships with others, with ourselves, with the Divine, and to begin again.

But in order to enjoy a clean slate, we must clean the slate.

Nexus: A Musical Connection

Nexus connects four of the world’s most skilled Indian classical artists in a unified musical experience that journeys through the many shades of Indian music. Each performance begins with melodic expressions rooted in the raga—ancient melodic frameworks considered living, breathing entities. The percussion then starts a playful rhythmic banter that escalates until rhythm and melody form a nexus that reverberates through the room. This group features tabla artist Vivek Pandya, bansuri wizard S. Akash , santoor maestro Vinay Desai , and kanjira king Swaminathan Selvaganesh.
